Insurance for Mobility Scooters

There's alot of confusion as to whether or not mobility scooter owners are required to take out an insurance policy for their vehicle. The simple answer is that there is no legal requirement for owners of mobility scooters or powered wheelchairs to have insurance, but there are companies that provide the service should you require it.

Although it is not a legal requirement, it is strongly advised to have insurance. Suitable schemes are not too expensive and are available to cover your personal safety, other people's safety and the value of the vehicle.
